Christine Snivley & Kristin Marconi

Christine and Kristin have taught 8th grade American History together in a suburb of Columbus, Ohio for over 10 years. Differentiation and student voice and choice are utmost importance in their classroom. Allowing students to demonstrate their learning through a creative means always drives their lessons and planning. In their units of study, they know it is essential to have students look at multiple perspectives and analyze events through different lenses. they teach students to constantly question the information and world around them in order to determine their own beliefs and to find their own truth.

Christine and Kristin started a club with the goal of displaying inspirational student artwork around the building. Students in the club meet with staff members to design uplifting ceiling tiles and murals for their classrooms and hallways for all to enjoy. They also organize monthly service opportunities for the students and staff at their school to make a difference in their local community.

Most importantly, Christine and Kristin want their students to be wonderful empathetic leaders in their community and work to always make a difference in the world.
